Why the gap between two cities is never fixed
The number of hours separating two places is nothing more than the difference between their two UTC offsets, and it shifts whenever either place changes its own clocks. Pakistan and the UK sit five hours apart in winter and four in summer — not because Pakistan does anything differently, but purely because Britain does.
That is also exactly why “what time is it there right now” and “how many hours ahead of me are they” can be different questions during the few weeks around a clock change. This page keeps both answers current for the actual date today.

Does the gap between two cities change across the year?
