Exact Age Calculator

Adding time to the calendar calculation

Exact Age keeps the familiar calendar breakdown but also calculates smaller elapsed units. Enter the birth date and, when you know it, the birth time; then choose the date and time you want to calculate against.

If the birth time is unknown, midnight is only a placeholder. The years-months-days portion remains useful, but the hour and minute totals should not be described as exact.

Time zones and precision

Time-based totals use the browser’s current time-zone rules. A birth that happened in another time zone needs both timestamps interpreted in a consistent zone for a genuinely exact elapsed-hour total.

That distinction matters around daylight-saving transitions and international moves. Calendar age and elapsed clock time answer related but different questions.

Questions people ask

Do I need to know the exact birth time for this to work?

No for the calendar years-months-days result. Yes if you want a genuinely precise elapsed-hour or minute total; otherwise midnight is only a placeholder.
