Real calendar months
Age in Months counts completed calendar months, not the total days divided by 30 or 30.44. That matters because February and March do not represent the same number of elapsed days even though each advances the calendar by one month.
The calculator derives the month total from the completed years and remaining completed months, so twelve completed months becomes twelve rather than an approximation such as 11.98 or 12.02.
Why month-end dates need a convention
Dates near the end of a month are the main edge case. A person born on the 29th, 30th or 31st can reach a later month that does not contain the same day number, so different applications may choose different end-of-month conventions.
For ordinary age display, use this page consistently rather than mixing its whole-month result with an average-month conversion from another tool.
Questions people ask
Is this the same as dividing my age in days by thirty?
No, and deliberately so — dividing by an average month length gives a slightly different, less intuitive number. This counts real calendar months instead.
