5 Minute Meditation Timer
Why five minutes is useful
Five minutes is short enough to fit into a normal break and long enough to practise returning attention several times. It works well as a brief reset between tasks or as an easy entry point for someone who does not want to begin with a long sit.
Use the whole five minutes for one simple method rather than switching techniques halfway through. Consistency makes it easier to notice what the practice actually feels like.
A simple way to use the timer
Pick one anchor before you start — for example the sensation of breathing, ambient sound or the feeling of your feet on the floor. When attention moves elsewhere, notice it and return. There is no need to force the mind blank.
Questions people ask
Is five minutes actually long enough to do anything?
For a genuine reset between tasks, yes. For a deeper or more extended practice, the ten-minute or full meditation timer gives more room to settle.
